The canoe may be the most iconic watercraft of all time, so it’s easy to understand why聽filmmaker 聽paid homage to this vessel in his recent film,聽The Canoe. The story is told from the perspective of聽paddlers across聽Ontario and underscores the connection between the human spirit and paddling canoes. As an avid canoeist himself,聽Iromoto聽wanted to dedicate a piece of work to the activity that has given him so much in return. He writes this to his viewers, “To all the paddlers out there (and to those who want to start), this film is for you. Keep on paddling.”
