Michael Roberts (host): There鈥檚 a curious benefit of having a lot of outdoorsy friends that is rarely appreciated, and it鈥檚 this: you get to hear the best stories about dating.
Seriously, the stories are so good that 国产吃瓜黑料 has an online column dedicated to the topic. It鈥檚 called Tough Love and it鈥檚 written by Blair Braverman, who鈥檚 a dogsledder. One of my favorite columns had Blair explaining how one goes about dating鈥 while living in a van.
So if you do have a lot of outdoorsy friends, chances are you鈥檝e heard a fair number wild tales of love and adventure. Some of these stories make headlines, like that one last year that involved a new couple 鈥 and some very ornery bison on an island in Utah鈥檚 Great Salt Lake. After it popped in the news, 国产吃瓜黑料鈥檚 website published an interview with the couple, and I remember reading it and thinking, This would make an incredible podcast episode... But then I got busy and I didn鈥檛 follow-up.
Fortunately, another show took it on鈥攁 really good show. It鈥檚 called This Is Love, and it鈥檚 created by the makers of the award-winning podcast Criminal. The show investigates life鈥檚 most persistent mystery. For their entire fourth season, which launched in April, host Phoebe Judge is telling stories about animals鈥 and us. When I heard their episode on this couple and those feisty bison, I knew I had to share it here, with all of you.
