At first glance, the looks like something from Wes Anderson鈥檚 The Life Aquatic听with Steve Zissou. The plan for this small, simple travelling house made from repurposed water tanks is the product of a collaboration betweenarchitect听Marcelo Ertorteguy, fashion designer and architect Sara Valente, and actor Takahiro Fukuda for the New York City-based design website听.

Two yellow SLT-3000 water tanks comprise the main structures, which are connected by a wooden frame with a cypress floor. If you鈥檙e brave enough to build it, you鈥檒l be rewarded with an extremely light domicile that can be towed by car, bicycle, or even by hand. With a total space of 250 cubic feet, it sleeps three and, in keeping with the architects鈥 vision of building something sustainable, its four LED lights and two fans are solar-powered. A small storage compartment sits below the main cabin for luggage.

While the product was designed from water containers only available in Japan, according to designers Ertorteguy and Valente, interest has been so great in the U.S. that they are considering designing a version that utilizes domestic products.

Take note: Red Zissou Society beanies are not included.
