The bad news: there鈥檚 no such thing as a one-quiver bike. The good? This one comes pretty damn close鈥攊f you're into ski-mo that is.

After seeing a decent mountaineering approach bike last year, adventure filmmaker Thomas Woodson set out to create an even better one. 鈥淓veryone seems to strap their skis to the frame, but I wanted something that wouldn鈥檛 destroy the paint,鈥 he says. 鈥淧lus, vertical skis catch wind, tree branches, and overall wreck your balance.鈥

To bring his idea to life, he turned to Boulder-based bike builder Collin Schaafsma of Matter Cycles. Schaafsma fit Matter鈥檚 fat-bike frame, dubbed the , with custom racks, resulting in what Thomas calls 鈥渢he sickest approach bike out there.鈥澨
Skis mount directly to the frame,听thanks to the听custom holder, and there鈥檚 a main rack big enough to hold a weekend鈥檚 worth of gear, as well as a secondary one for serious backcountry adventures. Plus the bike is customized to your specifications down to the fork. The best part? Ditch all the accessories and the bike turns into a 29+ summer shredder when it鈥檚 time to trade snow for dirt.
