Some nomads don’t want a home on wheels. They want a palace. That’s apparently what throngs of “Streamers” told Airstream, which responded by giving its 30-foot Classic trailer a luxury remodel for 2015: cherry wood cabinets, high-polish Corian countertops, stainless steel appliances, and other high-end upgrades that make “camping” in the Classic as plush as a night at the Hyatt.

The sofa features two integrated recliners with individual power controls. The queen-sized bed also power-adjusts: the foot end accordions to offer more floor space (and a cozy reading position in bed). There’s a walk-in closet and the flooring takes a page from luxury yachts, which were the first to feature Aqua-Flor vinyl carpet that’s certified green—and actually feels sumptuous.
The 2015 Classic also features sophisticated lighting, with oversized overhead fixtures, backlit cabinets, and a lighted entry handle and doorbell. All use energy-efficient LED bulbs that don’t heat up the interior, not that you’d notice given the 15,000-BTU air conditioner.

The bathroom was also redesigned for 2015, with a new cabinet/countertop design to create a roomier traffic flow. Kohler faucets and a sunflower showerhead echo the sheen of the aluminum walls. Production of the 2015 Classic is underway now.
