Why They’re CoolEvery month or so I study mountain lions on a rough tracking transect. During my most recent jaunt, the aggressive Vibram soles on the Nimbles negotiated myriad off-trail surfaces like a set of paws. 禄 The low-cut uppers allowed my ankles to flex freely on steep climbs, but a plastic tensioning band connecting the top lace eyelets and the heel kept the shoes firmly on my feet. 禄 I liked the pairing of a cushioning EVA midsole with a thermoplastic shank for support and armoring. 禄 My feet breathed easily through mesh panels on the uppers. 禄 A fat rand around the sole helps protect the uppers.
Hmmm . . .That EVA midsole, while comfy, won’t hold up as long as polyurethane. 禄 Small lace eyelets make tensioning a chore.
