Dropper seatposts, which make technical riding easier by lowering the saddle to get it聽out of the way, are all but requisite on high-end mountain bikes these days. But many of the designs are still complicated to install, especially on bikes with internal cable routings, and prone to slippage and failure.
Enter the , which uses Magura's wireless electronic eLECT technology to actuate the post movement. Operated by an ambidextrous, bar-mounted wireless remote, the post offers 150 millimeters of fully adjustable drop. You still have to weight the saddle to push it down, but when you want it back up, you simply push the button on the remote a second time聽and a聽piezoelectric motor in the post returns the saddle to full height.
But the real benefit聽of聽the Vyron post is how easy it is to set up: just聽tighten聽the seatpost bolt as as you would聽on any standard bike and pair聽the device to the ANT+ remote. That also means you can quickly and easily move the Vyron from bike to bike, something that's聽impossible with any other dropper design.
Magura has already proven that its elegant, wireless technology works, and for those running the company's eLECT suspension, the same remote can be used to operate fork, shock, and dropper all at once. Magura says the Vyron has enough juice for approximately 400 actuations before it needs recharging, which is done by an聽USB port on the rear of the seat clamp. The Vyron will come in 30.9- and 31.6-millimeter diameters and will begin shipping this聽November.
