Ironically, summer is often the best time to buy winter gear (as you鈥檒l continue to see throughout this list of products). At more than $100 off, the Swift Stretch Jacket is a smart summer buy. You might not need it until the first snow flies, but you鈥檒l be glad to have this jacket in your closet when it鈥檚 time to hit the slopes.

If your mountain bike is your vehicle for adventure, the Five Ten Trailcross XT is the shoe for you. Unlike most bike shoes, these are actually designed for walking, scrambling, and hiking (along with mountain biking, of course). So if you find yourself making frequent pit stops along the trail to take some photos or hunt for some mushrooms, this is your shoe.

A discounted Patagonia jacket that is still available in sizes S-XL is a unicorn. Now鈥檚 the time to buy without hesitation鈥攜ou won鈥檛 find a better fleece, especially at a discount. The Retro Pile is a great midlayer聽 for winter, but it鈥檚 more versatile than that: it鈥檚 perfect for crisp summer evenings in the mountains and will be a shoulder season workhorse come fall.

We鈥檝e lost track whether fannys are in or not these days, but let鈥檚 be honest鈥攅veryone needs a good hip pack. An adjustable waist, ample and generous pockets, and breathable mesh backpanel make this more than your mom鈥檚 fanny pack from the 90s.

Smith is one of the most trusted brands in eyewear, and for good reason. Their lens quality and frame designs are usually a step above the competition. The Attack MAG is made specifically for mountain biking, featuring vents to maximize airflow and an oversized lens to protect the eyes from dust and debris. Plus, the magnetic lens swapping system lets you change out your lenses in a jiffy.

We鈥檙e big fans of Smith goggles too, though their price tags can be hard to swallow. But if you can score them on sale, we say go for it. The 4D MAG uses the brand鈥檚 signature ChromaPop lens technology to boost clarity and contrast in varying light conditions. And if conditions change drastically on the hill, you can use the slick magnetic lens system to swap out lenses on the fly.

The Salomon Dialogue Dual BOA is a workhorse of a snowboard boot that can do everything on the mountain. The BOA system makes dialing in your fit a cinch鈥攅specially once you鈥檝e had the heat-moldable liner customized to your foot鈥攁nd the Dialogue-exclusive heel cage prevents heel lift.

Keeping the noggin protected is a priority, and the Ambush 2 mountain bike helmet is up to the task. It features MIPS technology to help protect the brain against impact forces in the case of a crash, and purpose-built ventilation that allows for ample airflow when the climbs get sweaty.

Much like when biking, a helmet is non-negotiable when skiing or snowboarding. The Smith Vantage has MIPS tech built in, uses a BOA system for dialing in fit, and adjustable ventilation that you can tailor to your needs.

The Hawx Ultra 100 GW is a great choice for beginner and intermediate skiers looking to take their skills to the next level on the mountain. The boots have moderate 100-flex for all-mountain comfort and performance, and a heat-moldable liner that ensures the perfect fit.

Designed to tackle everything from powder days to park sessions, the T.Rice Orca has all of the little details dialed in. The nose is long and floaty for deep days, and the tail has more than enough pop to make resort riding fun even on low tide days.

These skis have a cult-like following for a reason. They’re some of the more playful planks on the market and are versatile enough to tackle all-mountain conditions as well as big pow days.
