, which has spent the better part of the past few years focusing on new technologies and products, just announced that it will aslo be getting back to its roots. Next Fall (2012), Columbia will reissue its famous Bugaboot, one of its most popular styles. Normally, we wouldn’t get that excited about the reissue of an old boot, but the Bugaboot is a classic and we’re big fans of the heat-reflective technology they’ve been refining over the past couple of years.

The new Bugaboot will look just like the old one, featuring the same classic design that made it such a hit the first time. But Columbia is giving the boot a few modern enhancements: improved fit, less bulk, and in some models heat-enhancing tech including Omni-Heat Reflective–the silver dots that we wrote about in the Buyer’s Guide in baselayers, resort ski jackets, and winter boots, and Omni Heat Electric, which we just awarded Columbia a听Radical Design Award听for in its Circuit Breaker Softshell.听
“Reintroducing the Bugaboot Original is a big step forward for our customers,鈥 said Eric Groff, Columbia鈥檚 Senior Line Manager for Footwear in an interview with 国产吃瓜黑料. 鈥淚 love the fact we鈥檙e staying true to our heritage. The Bugaboot put Columbia鈥檚 footwear effort on the map in 1993, and really set the pace for many styles that followed.鈥 Available Fall 2012, $140-$275, .
