The day of the camo e-fat bike has come with the release of Felt鈥檚 Outfitter earlier this week at Interbike. And we鈥檙e stoked. 聽聽
Felt founder Jim Felt, an avid bow hunter, wanted to design a rig that could聽shlep gear far into the backcountry for multi-day hunting trips. His answer: the concept Bosch-powered Outfitter than can haul a trailer with up to 100聽pounds of equipment. The trailer we saw at the聽show was a聽.,聽but Felt is apparently working on a design of its own for 2015.
As for the rest of the bike, it鈥檚 essentially the same as聽Felt鈥檚 new聽, just聽done up in camo licensed from ultralight hunting company聽.
While the Outfitter was聽intended for hunters, we think it will suit聽anyone who wants to bring lots of gear into the woods under their聽own聽power鈥攚ith some help from that Bosch eDrive. Several聽photographers聽remarked that the set-up is ideal for lugging聽professional camera equipment in for a shoot, says Felt Sales Manger聽IanMcCabe. And you can always carry beer. One hundred pounds of beer.聽
The bike is expected to ship this December for about $5,000.聽
