A woman trying to move to Idaho ended up stranded in San Francisco for eight days earlier this year when she couldn’t afford to pay for her checked bags and missed her flight. Teri Weissinger had only $30 to her name when she tried to board a flight to Idaho, half of the $60 charged by U.S Airways for her two bags. The airline told Weissinger that for security reasons she could not discard a bag, and, when she missed her flight, forced her to pay a $150 change fee. Weissinger had moved out of her home and slept on the airport floor until an airport church donated money to cover her expenses. “We have apologized to Ms. Weissinger for her experience, but unfortunately are unable to offer a refund,” a US Airways spokesman told .
