A New York appeals court has upheld an order that Ras al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates is unqualified to be the port for yachting's , which will be between Switzerland's team, the defending champ, and of the U.S. The court cited the 19th-century Deed of Gift as the basis for its ruling, the reports. The Swiss were rooting for Ras al-Khaimah because they forked over $120 million to build infrastructure for their boats and crews there. The Americans, on the other hand, opposed the UAE port partly because of safety concerns over nearby Iran.
