Rush Sturges broke his back while running Bonito Falls in Chile, . Sturges and several other kayakers were on location filming for their (teaser below), which will include footage from Norway, Canada, Chile, China and Iceland.
Sturges sustained the injury while dropping 80 ft into the water below the falls. He then paddled a few hundred yards聽 (in Class III water) before leaving the water. Luckily, there doesn't seem to be any nerve damage. Read his personal account at .听
