Yesterday, crowds at the 2009 in Cape Town attempted to break the world record for the most people surfing on a single wave. The current record is 100 people, and was set in Brazil last year. Representatives of the festival say that they have successfully riding the same wave, and plan to submit the video footage to the Guinness World Record organization in London.
