Today the fifth consecutive lay day was declared at the Billabong Pro at Teahupoo, Tahiti after suitable swells again failed to show at the legendary break, . Competition has yet to begin at the event, the fifth on this year's ASP World Tour.
“The first real fetch of swell we've been expecting is looking to come in Sunday night,” said ASP International Head Judge Richie Porta. “That said, we'll return tomorrow morning at 7 A.M. to assess conditions.”
When surfing does begin, Damien Hobgood, Kekoa Bacalso, and Jay Thompson will hit the water for the first heat.
