A team of lawyers representing the World Anti-Doping Agency became so frustrated with the Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing on Alberto Contador’s doping case that they nearly walked out in protest, according to a report filed today by The Associated Press. The lawyers were most upset that the trio of CAS judges deciding the case鈥擡fraim Barak, Quentin Byrne-Sutton, and Ulrich Haas鈥攄id not allow testimony from Australian scientist Michael Ashendon. Ashendon was expected to explain how Contador could have received an illegal blood transfusion laced with trace amounts of the steroid clenbuterol even though there were no signs that he had transfused blood on the day of his positive test in July, 2010.
