NBC鈥檚 Olympics coverage has come under heavy criticism, and, not surprisingly, a new poll shows that viewers aren鈥檛 necessarily happy with the Peacock鈥檚 coverage. A recent Gallup poll found that 59 percent of Americans would prefer that NBC show all Olympic events live and then again, tape-delayed, in primetime. Only 12 percent said that they prefer the Games being shown just on tape-delay. Among those watching the Olympics 鈥渁 lot,鈥 71 percent prefer the live-and-delayed approach, while 57 percent of those watching even 鈥渁 little鈥 of the Olympics would like the Games shown both live and delayed. Last week, NBC an impossible-to-prove study that said viewers were more likely to watch tape-delayed events if they already knew the results beforehand. Even if that鈥檚 true, the Gallup poll suggests that these viewers like to actually be able to see those events live on television too. Gallup did not ask respondents about watching events online.
