Tough Mudder, the obstacle race course company founded in 2010, has launched a new race series called Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder, aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 12, .
Tough Mudder events have been largely restricted to ages 18 and up. The new expansion, in cooperation with beverage company Britvic, will allow youngsters to try out kid-friendly obstacles on a one-mile course.
鈥淲e are excited to announce our partnership with Britvic and to begin to roll out Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder courses at our events in 2015,鈥 Tough Mudder CEO Will Dean said in the press release. 鈥淕iven the high family turnout and participation at our events, it was a natural fit to work with Britvic to enhance the on-site experience for children and their guardians.鈥
Not surprisingly, the tone of the new Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder courses is mellower than those of Tough Mudders or Mudderellas, the company鈥檚 women-only race series. The course is untimed and includes such obstacles as the Crazy Climb (over bales of hay), a ropes challenge called A-Frame 国产吃瓜黑料, and Wagon Draggin鈥, a teamwork activity wherein competitors pull their friends on a pioneer wagon that has lost its wheels.
Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder is the latest in a series of expansions and updates Tough Mudder has on its 2015 agenda. In January, the company announced a new line of five- to eight-mile city events called Urban Mudders, as well as all-new obstacles for its 2015 adult events, including a wheel of monkey bars called the Human Hamster Wheel, and Fire in Your Hole, a tall slide where competitors slide through flames into water.
