German slackliner Alexander Schulz has racked up 13 world records in his respective sport. But one of his most eccentric endeavors to date found him and a friend wobbling on a line stretched between two cable cars on Germany鈥檚 highest peak, Zugspitze, near the Austrian border. Bear Grylls shared an English-language on Wednesday.
Schulz and Niklas Winter, members of slacklining team , hatched the idea when they found that the angle of the cable between the gondolas was suitable for walking. Their line stretched 65 feet between two cable cars, 500 feet above the ground. Though Schulz鈥檚 first attempt quickly ended when he became entangled in his safety rope, both men successfully crossed between the cars鈥擶inter on his first try.
In terms of size, this stunt is dwarfed by Schulz鈥檚 most recent world record for , for which he traveled 1,230 feet between two boulders in China.
