Lindsey Vonn and Norway’s Aksel Svindal captured the season’s final downhill in Schladming, Austria on Wednesday as Austria’s Klaus Kroell finished seventh but secured an overall downhill World Cup title. Kroell just edged Swiss legend Didier Cuche, who finished a disappointing 17th after winning four downhill races this year, to take the first World Cup title of his career. Vonn, who has already sealed an overall World Cup title and discipline titles in downhill and super G, will now look to become the first woman and only the second skier ever to . Vonn’s 12 wins and 17 podium finishes have netted her 1,908 points with super G and giant slalom races still remaining in Schladming. A victory is worth 100 points.
