The Solar Impulse聽plane touched down in Chongqing, China, on Monday.
The record-breaking aircraft聽is on its way to become the first solar-powered flight around the world. Pilots Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg left Mandalay, Myanmar, 20 hours earlier聽and聽traveled聽1,500 kilometers to China.
The pilots will remain in China until a weather window allows them to continue on to Nanjing, . They will then head to Hawaii in the plane鈥檚 first major ocean crossing.
鈥淢aybe we have to wait a few days,鈥 mission director Raymond Clerc told the BBC. 鈥淲e鈥檒l have a first image from the meteorologists [on Tuesday].鈥
It has been three weeks since the plane began its flight from Oman.聽The project has already set two world records for manned solar-powered flights.
