Residents and environmentalists have expressed concern about the environmental impact of plan, which includes new ski-in condos, two lodges, a four-story hotel, and 15,000 square feet of retail space. The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency unanimously approved the development last month. Mason Overstreet, director of Friends of the West Shore, indicated that a smaller development would be more welcome in the community. “We must be careful not to destroy the beauty that attracts visitors to Lake Tahoe in the first place,” he said.
