Outen first set out to complete a circumnavigation of the globe by bicycle, kayak, and rowboat聽in 2011. Though her original plan was to finish the journey in two聽and聽a聽half years, setbacks鈥攊ncluding boat damage from a tropical storm鈥delayed the trip significantly.聽Outen聽left聽Cape Cod in May 2015 to begin the final leg of her journey.聽She planned to reach London, her original starting point, in September 2015, the BBC reports.
