Jeremy Powers defeated an all-star U.S. cyclocross field to win on Sunday in Dane County, Wisconsin. A fixture on the U.S. cyclocross circuit since 2006, Powers, 28, was in contention to win last year’s championships, held in Porland, Oregon in December, 2010, but crashed late in the race and finished third. Powers was unmatched in the 2011, however, with five wins and the overall title in the U.S. Gran Prix cyclocross series, and on Sunday he defeated past U.S. cyclocross winners Ryan Trebon, Jonathan Page, and Tim Johnson.
