Koryo Tours, a travel company based in China, organized the race. Due to North Korea's strict tourism regulations, runners will have to participate in days of ceremonies in the capital city. The race will take place in August.聽
“We decided to make Mount Paektu a new itinerary as people often ask to see more of the countryside,” Koryo Tours founder Simon Cockerell told the BBC. “This is a remote area and a beautiful place to run in.”
