Pro cycling team consortium Velon has partnered with GoPro to produce in-race and behind-the-scenes footage, it announced in a press release on Wednesday.听
Velon has experimented with cameras in the past, but, , this is the first time the group has partnered with a specific hardware company.听
Footage from riders and other support staff, including mechanics, will be available听on the teams鈥 social media feeds, as well as through GoPro鈥檚 extremely popular channels.
In addition to video, this year鈥檚 Tour will also feature GPS tracking. Dimension Data, a partner of Tour de France organizer Amaury Sport Organisation, announced on Tuesday that it will offer real-time tracking of Tour de France riders for the first time ever, .

With the new service, users will be able to follow riders and accurately access information on groupings and speed. The company will release a host of new innovations over the race鈥檚 three-week duration, including a new live-tracking website. Dimension Data will mount trackers under the saddle of each rider and provide the GPS data for fans and the media, who can follow all 198 riders in real time.

鈥淭he technology will allow cycling fans to follow the race in ways they鈥檝e never been able to before,鈥 Jeremy Ord, executive chairman of Dimension Data,听told VeloNews. 鈥淯ntil now it was difficult to understand what was happening outside of what could be shown on the live television coverage.鈥
