Kenya’s Geoffrey Mutai won the New York City Marathon on Sunday in 2:05:06, breaking the race’s course record by more than two minutes and becoming only the second man in ten years to win both the Boston and New York City marathons in the same year. Mutai, who ran a “world’s best” 2:03:02 in Boston in April, is the latest Kenyan man to break a course record at one of the World Marathon Majors races, the five most important non-championship marathons in the world.
