The Chaffee County Sheriff鈥檚 Office arrested a 15-year-old male on Tuesday in connection with two recent sexual assault attempts on teenage girls at Monarch Mountain, .
Officials told the Post that they will file charges against the teenager, who has not been named. Charges include felony menacing, aggravated criminal extortion, enticement of a child, false imprisonment, two counts of criminal attempt to commit sexual assault, two counts of criminal attempt to commit second-degree kidnapping, and harassment.
The sheriff鈥檚 office first publicized the assaults late last week to a barrage of public criticism. Visitors expressed their outrage that neither Monarch Mountain Colorado Ski Resort nor law enforcement authorities had issued public alerts of the incidents until the holiday ski season had subsided.
The investigation is ongoing. Officials told the Post that they don鈥檛 expect to make any more arrests at this time.
