On Wednesday, the U.S. Ski Team took their first runs on the 2014 Olympic downhill course in Sochi, Russia and came away with mixed reviews. The Russian ski federation hosted a practice session for 73 international skiers in which Austrian Hannes Reichelt Didier Cuche by a quarter of a second. Travis Ganong praised the course for its unique technical elements but other U.S. team members, including Ted Ligety and Bode Miller, complained that the course was too technical and not fast enough. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 really believe it embodies anything that a true World Cup downhill should be,鈥 Miller said. The course will host a World Cup downhil race this weekend.
