Mascarenas and Hojer Win Vail Bouldering World Cup

German Jan Hojer finished ahead of Nathaniel Coleman and Adam Ondra in Saturday鈥檚 bouldering Word Cup in Vail, Colorado, by the IFSC, sport climbing鈥檚 governing body.聽With his second place, Coleman, an 18-year-old from Utah, vaulted to the top of the overall standings.

On the women鈥檚 side, American Megan Mascarenas sent three of the four problems, including two flashes, for the gold medal. Last year鈥檚 winner, Akiyo Noguchi聽of Japan, took second, and Shauna Coxsey of England came in third. Alex Puccio, one of the top contenders, 聽before the qualifying round, taking her out of the competition and the rest of the season.

The World Cup circuit continues in two weeks with bouldering and speed-climbing events in Chongqing, China.
