A man died Monday while surfing in the North Fork of the Flathead River west of Glacier National Park in Montana, .

The victim was a 30-year-old Park City native whose identity has yet to be released. He had attached a surfboard to an obstacle in the river. He fell, became tangled in the rope, and drowned. Bystanders cut the rope and took him downriver听but failed to revive him.
