Vandals cut nets holding 40,000 juvenile Chinook salmon and released the fish earlier this week. The salmon were part of a restoration project operated by the Tiburon Salmon Institute in conjunction with a local high school. The high-school students had planned a celebratory release for the salmon in three weeks. “We took care of them, we spawned them from mother and father fish and raised them from before they were even fish,” said 17-year-old Greg Gillis.
