On Wednesday, police in Alabama arrested and charged two women for the murder of a nine-year-old girl who died yesterday after she was forced to . The girl’s stepmother, Jessica Mae Hardin, and grandmother, Joyce Hardin Garrard, forced Savannah Hardin to run for hours because she lied about eating a candy bar. Severely dehydrated and with very low blood sodium levels, the girl had a seizure and died in the hospital nine days later. Investigators are considering upgrading the charges to capital murder, which carries a death sentence.
