“The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) is a unique and expansive outdoor destination located in western Kentucky and Tennessee, USA. It is a peninsula bordered by the Kentucky Lake (created by the Tennessee River) to the west and Lake Barkley (created by the Cumberland River) to the east, offering over 170,000 acres of lush forest, open lands, and waterways.
The LBL also includes a 700-acre drive-through enclosure where visitors can see herds of elk and bison roaming freely in a recreated prairie habitat. As well as The Homeplace 1850s Working Farm: A living history museum demonstrating rural life from the mid-19th century.
