The Department of Interior is considering as National Monuments. Some state officials are angry they have not been consulted about the move. But a Department of Interior spokesperson has said these are merely ideas for National Monuments.
The areas under consideration include:
鈥 the San Rafael Swell in Utah,
鈥 New Mexico's Otero Mesa,
鈥 Montana鈥檚 Northern Prairie,
鈥 Heart of theGreat Basin in Nevada,聽
鈥 Northwest Sonoran Desert in Arizona,
鈥 Colorado's Vermillion Basin, and
鈥 the San Juan Islands in Washington.
