The Court of Arbitration for Sport on Thursday banned cyclist Jan Ullrich for two years and stripped him of all competitive results since 2005. A 2006 investigation into doping, called Operation Puerto, unearthed a bag of Ulrich’s blood in the office of a Spanish doctor implicated in helping riders blood dope. Ullrich, the 1997 Tour de France champion, from May 1, 2005, until his retirement in 2007. His two-year ban started retroactively on Aug. 22, 2011, the date of his CAS hearing. Lawyers from the International Cycling Union had wanted Ullrich .聽 2010 Tour champion Alberto Contador also received a two-year ban for doping earlier this week.
