Aboriginal communities in British Columbia announced Thursday a to block the proposed Enbridge Inc. pipeline expansion through their territories. The First Nations communities Expressed concern about a pipeline oil spill and pledged to reject any compensation for access to their shipping ports on the British Colombia coast. A proposed $5.5 billion pipeline project would move half-a-million barrels of oil per day from Alberta’s tar sands fields, the same oil fields that would have supplied the now-jeopardized Keystone XL pipeline.
