An avalanche struck Broad Peak on July 20 in the Karakorum Range of northeastern Pakistan, .

The avalanche hit Camp 1, but there are conflicting reports of the casualties on the world鈥檚 12th highest mountain. 聽the avalanche left one climber missing and two others seriously injured.

But 聽the avalanche took seven climbers with it, including a Pakistani porter聽who is still missing.

鈥淭he climber that is missing, presumed dead, is a Pakistani high-altitude porter who was assisting another team at our base camp,鈥� Burke wrote in her blog. 鈥淗e made an impression on everyone at our camp.鈥�
