Swiss mountaineer Dani Arnold set the Matterhorn speed-climbing record on April 22, breaking the mark formerly held by fellow Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck, .听

Steck set his聽mark of 1 hour, 56 minutes via the Schmid route in 2009. Arnold, taking the same route, completed his climb in just 1 hour, 46 minutes.

This is not the first time Arnold has bested one of Steck鈥檚 records. In 2011, Arnold鈥檚 Eiger climb in 2 hours, 28 minutes was nearly 20 minutes faster than Steck鈥檚 previous record-setting mark.
