Nine days into a planned three-month expedition, a Belgian team 6,000 kilometers through the remotest areas of East Antarctica have been forced to evacuate on Tuesday after encountering bad weather and poor ice conditions. Dixie Dansercoer and his partner Sam Deltour聽are hoping to set a world record for the longest self-supported, non-motorized expedition. The team will make another attempt from a different location in Antarctica when the weather clears.
