A cold snap in Eastern Europe as parts of the Black Sea have frozen for the first time in years. , with some 30 deaths since Thursday as temperatures have dropped to -27 degrees Fahrenheit. Many of the dead were already without homes, though four people were found indoors. In Bulgaria, the Danube river began to freeze over, as temperatures in the capital, Sofia, plunged to -20 degrees, the coldest recorded lows in the past century.
