Hundreds of birds at a West Virginia wind farm in October, likely the most ever at a wind energy station, according to a report released to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. As many as 314 were killed in a single event鈥攁 fog-shrouded night that experts think caused the birds to fly to an and circle its lights until they struck it or died of exhaustion.
