This full-time position with benefits is based at Mariah Media/国产吃瓜黑料 editorial headquarters in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Uploading and producing editorial content, including stories, art, and multimedia; photo selection and basic editing; oversight of 国产吃瓜黑料 Online's homepage and channel landing pages to ensure fresh content throughout the day; acting as a liaison between the print editorial and online editorial teams when necessary; communicating efficiently and effectively with 国产吃瓜黑料 staff and contributors; working closely with 国产吃瓜黑料 Online's production director to troubleshoot any technical issues; making recommendations for the execution of future products and packages; other duties as assigned.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Is detail oriented and has demonstrated writing, organizational and project management skills; possesses strong basic computer (Mac) and copy-editing skills; has the ability to write catchy headlines, captions, and descriptions; is a flexible team player in a small staff environment; maintains a positive attitude under tight deadlines; can work independently under pressure and prioritize tasks; is familiar with Google trends, insights, and other SEO and SEM tools; knows best Web search and story optimization practices; has the ability to improve and develop own skills through feedback and shared best practices; and has a deep understanding of how to attract and engage a digital audience including, but not limited to, using social media, third-party aggregators, search, and content partners.
QUALIFICATIONS: College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; training in journalism or communications鈥攁t least one year demonstrated Internet publication experience preferred; knowledge of HTML and/or Web authoring tools; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop; available to work flexible hours to meet the needs of Web publishing deadlines.
