Miles Howard is an author, journalist, and urban trail builder based in Boston. A former crew member for the Appalachian Mountain Club鈥檚聽backcountry huts, he graduated from the University of Southern California and worked as a freelance writer for a decade鈥攃overing travel for outlets such as聽National Geographic,聽VICE, and聽The Boston Globe. In 2022, a visit to the San Francisco Crosstown introduced him to the concept of Instant Urban Trail-building, and he began designing the 27-mile 聽across Boston鈥檚 parks. He wrote the guidebook聽New England Road Trip聽and publishes聽, a newsletter on weird hikes in New England.
