

Kristin Hostetter
Kristin Hostetter is the Head of Sustainability at . and the resident on 国产吃瓜黑料 Online. Hostetter leads 国产吃瓜黑料’s corporate sustainability efforts, authoring its annual , overseeing sustainability for The 国产吃瓜黑料 Festival and Summit, and inspiring her colleagues to lean into climate action through a collaboration with Mammoth Climate.
In addition, Hostetter also leads the company’s nonprofit partnership program, , which she launched in 2021.
Hostetter has worked as a journalist in the outdoor industry for 25+ years. She served as Backpacker magazine鈥檚 Gear Editor for 22 years and Editor-in-Chief of 国产吃瓜黑料 Business Journal for three years. She has on outdoor gear, with a focus on repairing gear and diverting it from the landfill. In 2012, her book won a National Outdoor Book Award.
A passionate environmentalist, Kristin Hostetter co-founded the Plastic Impact Alliance, a coalition of outdoor businesses bent on solving the single-use plastic problem. In 2021 she was awarded at Outdoor Media Summit.
Hostetter has appeared as an expert on many national television shows, including The TODAY Show, CBS This Morning, and The Martha Stewart Show.
Her sustainability journey has led her to become a passionate gardener which has spun off into many other related hobbies like composting, preserving her crops (canning, pickling, jelly-making), and native planting. Most of her time off is spent in the mountains long-distance hiking all over the world and skiing in the mountains of Vermont.
