Sailing in New Zealand
Q: I’m interested in traveling to New Zealand for a couple of months this winter. Do you know of any sailing schools/programs? If not, what might be the best way to access this information? Thanks a lot and GREAT page!

A: Since New Zealand is officially an island, you’ll find unlimited opportunities to learn sailing inside and out, especially during our winter, which is New Zealand summertime. Sailing schools and clubs are located in all major coastal towns or cities, and
offer anything from hour-long lessons to month-long classes for beginners to experts. In Auckland on the North Island, where one out of every four families owns a boat, there’s a sailing establishment on just about every street corner.
