Purchasing advance tickets from ski areas
Question: My daughter and her family live in Colorado, and I live in Massachusetts. I would like to purchase ski lift tickets for them as a gift. How can I do this long distance? I’d really appreciate your help. Thanks!

ԹϺ Adviser: A thoughtful gift indeed. You’d think this would be very easy to do, but it’s a little tricky since no Ticketmaster of skiing exists. Thus instead of going through one centralized system, you need to purchase tickets directly from a specific ski area. For instance, you can advance purchase tickets for
Aspen/Snowmass by calling 970-923-0554. Many of the ski areas also have web sites, a good resource for purchasing tickets ahead of time.

Colorado Ski Country (303-837-0793) can provide contact numbers for each of Colorado’s resorts. They also offer a $2500 Gold Pass, good for season-long skiing at all of the state’s resorts, with the exception of Wolf Creek. But if you were thinking of a smaller-scale gift, you’ll have to contact a resort directly.
