In Sweden’s northern town of Jukkasj盲rvi, the finishing touches are being put on the world’s largest igloo–a 3,000-ton snow-and-ice structure designed to house a 40-guest hotel, an art gallery, a cinema, and a 45-foot bar made of solid ice (no need to request a frosted mug). This is the fourth year the ice The temperature inside hovers around 30 degrees Fahrenheit; guests sleep comfortably in down bags on reindeer-skin-covered slabs of ice. Dog-sledding, nordic skiing, and kicksledding (on a scooterlike sled) help visitors fill the few hours of Lapland daylight.
