Exploring the wilds of Iceland
Question: I was just wondering what you would suggest about hiking in Iceland. I have lots of relatives there but need some insight on planning a trip there that is outside. Can you help?

国产吃瓜黑料 Adviser: The good news is that with five national parks, thousands of miles of trails, and plenty of wide-open, unpeopled spaces, Iceland is a hiker’s paradise. Some of the best roaming is on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, about three hours north of Reykjav铆k, where you can clamor around the Snaefellsjokull Glacier. Start from the
remote outpost of Arnarstapi, on Route 574, stopping at the village inn for directions to the trailhead. From there, it’s an easy four-hour hike to the 4,744-foot summit (stash a pair of crampons in your daypack, just to be safe), with its sweeping views of the West Fjord Mountains to the north, jet-black lava fields, and electric-green sheep pastures. For more details on this
and other choice hiking areas, call the Iceland Hiking Club at 011-354-1-68-25-33.
