Cycling tours through Italy
Question: I would like to go on a cycling trip in Italy either the last week of October or the second week of November. I’d prefer northern Italy but am open. Is the weather okay at that time of year for cycling? Are there any tour companies that offer trips at that time of year?

Cycling tours around Italy can show
you the countryside first-hand

国产吃瓜黑料 Adviser: Ciclismo Classico, a company that specializes in Italian bicycle and walking vacations, offers at least 13 cycling trips in Italy. The bummer for you, as far as I can tell, is their northern Italy trips take place during the summer. But don’t let that deter you. There’s still a handful of unique itineraries offered the
last weeks of October (I think November is a bit late in the season).

Consider their “Bike Across Italy” tour, which will take you from east coast to west coast through Le March, Ubria, Lazio, and Tuscany. You’ll cycle deep ravines through lush mountains and on to Italy’s largest known caves, the Grotte di Frasassi.

Then you’ll travel through the gentle landscape of Umbria and on to Assisi, the birthplace of Saint Francis. Finally, you’ll head to Tuscany’s southernmost province where you’ll find fields of poppies and herds of wild deer.

You’ll end up on the Silver Coast, famous for its excellent seafood. This trip is dubbed “intermediate/advanced” and covers 290 miles in 11 days. The cost is $2,840 and it departs October 19. Call 800-866-7314 for more details.

Euro-Bike Tours, another well-known company specializing in European cycling, offers a 15-day “Roman Roads” tour of northern Italy, but unfortunately the last start date of the season is October 11. You may want to put it on your calendar for next year, however, because it sounds like just the itinerary you’re looking for.

It starts in Milan and hits most of Italy’s exquisite Renaissance towns, including Florence and Venice. This year’s price is $3,295. Call 800-321-6060 for information.
